Jaballa Kalahari foals a chestnut colt

Kali one of our 2 treasured daughters of Akid Geshan, foals a chestnut colt to Alshinfarahh.  The new colt - Jaballa Farahh'ri aka 'Rory' is a 3/4 brother to our straight egyptian filly - Jaballa Kalila.

The big suprise is that Rory is going to stay chestnut even though both parents and all 4 grandparents are grey.

Kali is a very proud mum and the first thing she did upon being let out of the stable was to take her new son over to meet a very interested Aunt - Jaballa Elysium.  Kali and Lyssa grew up together and are half-sisters.  We find the family ties here are extremely strong as all the broodmares are related.
On a sadder note, Jaballa Elysium who was due to foal late Dec 2006 has started cycling again and is proven not to be in foal.  As we didn't pick it up until late we have decided to leave her until spring 2007 before breeding her so we can get an earlier foal.

Jaballa Al Jamiilahh leaves for her new home

Jemma the second daughter of Jaballa Samaardia has left Jaballa for her new home at Argyle Lodge Arabians.

Both studs were very excited with her birth as she carries  a double cross to El Shaklan through the Simeon Sa'ar son Amazing Sachaar as well as a double cross to Ruminaja Ali through her sire Alshinfarahh.

Mike and Deb Scott from Argyle Lodge look forward to campaigning Jemma in the halter ring before breeding from her.

Jaballa Mystic Gift takes FNQ shows by storm!

A very excited owner Margot Warnet advises Mysti has continued on with her showring success.

Mysti won all 3 of her partbred mare halter classes at Atherton, Malanda and Cairns shows as well as taking out Champion Partbred Exhibit at the Cairns show. Margot showed her at Atherton and Malanda and Mark Baker showed her at Cairns.

She also placed 4th in the Open Hack ring at Atherton & Malanda shows and managed a 3rd in both the Novice and Open Hack Ring at Cairns.  This was after only a handful of rides by Margot due to bad weather.

Margot is now concentrating on Dressage until the show season in 2007.

Leg Injury forces all horse activities on hold!!

Unfortunately I snapped my Achilles Tendon whilst showing Mysti at the TOTR in her halter class and have had surgery to repair the damaged tendon. As a result I will be out of action for next years showing season.  All horse activities are on hold until my leg is better.  Unfortunately the recovery time is between 12 - 18 months!!!
Jaballa Arabians
2007 in brief
2007 was a year of ups and downs for the stud.

Our treasured Akid Geshan mare - Jaballa Kalahari battled healthwise starting with a traumatic leg injury just prior to weaning Rory in March when she got her leg caught in the gate. This was the start of what we now know was a series of colic attacks due to a twisted caecum she sustained after foaling. It was a freak occurance and the vets assure us it is unlikely to re-occur.

The begininng of June saw us rushing her over to the Redlands Vet Clinic for assesment due to persistant re-occuring colic.  Whilst the concensus was enterloiths, all the tests were inconclusive and the decision was made to perform a laparotomy to try and find out the cause.  Luckily the cause was apparant and just required manipulation of the caecum without any internal surgery.

Kali spent 18 days in the Vet Clinic and whilst the bill really hurt the pocket it was money well spent.  Since then she's come along with leaps and bounds with only a couple of hiccups along the way.

Thankfully Kali was home prior to EI hitting.

Not to be outdone Jaballa Kalila decided Kali was getting all of the attention and decided to destroy about 30m of fencing one night.  Coming only a month after Kali's operation and not finding Lily in her paddock but hearing her calling to me in the semi-dark was frightening to say the least, especially when I saw the damage to the fence.  Luckily it was only fairly superficial wounds which have healed extremely well.

Jaballa Krystelle decided to give this attention seeking act a go but she opted for a more laid back approach and went for a minor cut on the forearm to become infected.  A course of anti-biotic injections just prior to Christmas was not the present she was seeking.
Feb 2008
Jaballa Arabians has remained EI free and all horses have received their microchipping and vaccinations.

It's been a bumper summer for grass and crops although it's been difficult to cut hay but already we have some winter hay in the sheds.

May 2008
Well it's been a busy month with the arrival of a new broodmare - Daniella (Simeon Sa'ar x Boomerang Monietta) for the stud.  We'd like to thank Ballanbrae Stud (Vic) for making this lovely mare available.

We also welcome a new member to the 'Jaballa' family - George Cochrane of Eltham Victoria who has purchased Jaballa Al Bashiir.  George will be sending Samson off for breaking in and will be looking forward to long rides in the countryside on him.

August 2008
Jaballa Arabians has settled into our new home at Kalbar, Qld.  We were fortunate to purchase the former home of Dunwingeri Arabians from Sylvia Archer and it was quite a treat to just move in without having to set things up to suit the horses.  Finally we have a proper barn (including a broodmare stable) along with a breeding crush, wash bay, dedicated foaling paddock and stallion paddocks.

August 2011
Jaballa Farahh'ri makes his way to his new home with Peter and Neroli Cooper.  We look forward to seeing him out under saddle competing in Endurance.
